Microsoft's Gates Tops List of Most Admired Executives For the world's top business leaders, geek is chic this year. A worldwide survey of the most prominent corporate leaders conducted by Burson-Marsteller, a public relations and public affairs firm based in New York, showed that three of the top 10 most admired chief executives were in charge of well-known technology firms. High School Internship Program The Microsoft High School Internship program was established in 1991 as a way to encourage and empower underrepresented youth through summertime employment with large corporations. This experience exposes students to corporate culture and teaches them about the use of technology in the workplace. The long-term goal of the program is to track these students through college and to help them prepare for their future careers. At Microsoft, the internship program has become a pipeline for exposing underrepresented youth to technology and for encouraging them to consider careers in the high-tech industry.
